Please join the Grandview Heights Marble Cliff Education Foundation and Stevenson PTO for an opportunity to meet your 2022-2023 Stevenson teachers and staff and enjoy an ice cream treat! BOBCAT BASH
August 20, 3 p.m. - 5 p.m.
The Bobcat Bash will include silent auction, dodgeball, hike through the woods, Grandad’s pizza, snacks, drinks, outdoor games, cotton candy from Cotton Sugar Co. and more!The event will be held outside the Wyman Woods Shelter and the surrounding park based on activity.Tickets are $10 for each adult and $5 for each child.
No refund, event fees will be considered a donation if weather does not cooperate.

The Grandview Heights K-3 PTO helps with a variety of events and initiatives throughout the school year.

All Arts Day - Laura Bova
An all-day event held in April, All Arts Day is designed to expose students to a wide range of artists and their work. Past events have featured a variety of individual musicians, bands, singers, dancers and various visual artists and craftspeople. Hands-on activities are emphasized.
Author Visit - Kristi Jump
The PTO funds a children’s book author or illustrator selected by the school librarian to visit Stevenson and work with each grade level.
Book Fair - Kristi Jump
In coordination with the school library, a Scholastic book fair is held in the FALL of the school year.
BrainBLAST! - Mona Barber
On this evening we celebrate Thomas Edison's birthday and his creative, inventive spirit. K-8 students design displays that showcase their interests – science fair experiments, artwork, collections of favorite toys or hobby items, research projects on how things are made, anything at all! The event is held in the Edison Intermediate Middle School Commons.
Art to Remember - Sandra Binning and Laura Bova
Students create a piece of artwork under the direction of the art teacher. Through Art to Remember, you can order your child’s artwork on a variety of products such as magnets, t-shirts, and note cards. Orders come in just before Mother's Day.
Bobcat Revue - Megan Green & Mary McCarron
The Bobcat Revue is held on a Saturday evening in the spring to showcase the talents of Grandview’s K-6 students. Auditions and rehearsals are held in early spring.
Class Party Coordinators and Classroom Gifts- Chrissy Hackney
In the fall, volunteers are solicited from each classroom to serve as parent coordinators and helpers for class parties and teacher gifts.
Election Day Bake Sale - Sandra Binning
The PTO holds a fundraising bake sale in November for the members of the community who use the Stevenson/RLStevenson gymnasium as a polling location.
Family Fun Nights
Family Fun Nights are a series of fun events designed for the whole family to enjoy together. Below are some of the current events held each year.
Families may wish to participate in events such as Columbus Blue Jackets Hockey Night, The Ohio State University Basketball Game, Mad River Mountain Tubing and Zoombezi Day at the Bay. DATES will be announced as they are confirmed.
Ornament Decorating and the City of Grandview Heights Tree Lighting Ceremony (December)
The Grandview Heights Parks and Rec Department and the K-3 PTO co-sponsor this event held at the Parks and Recreation building. Create your own ornaments with Clay Café (decorate on-site and then you pick up the fired ornament before the holidays). The Grandview High School Singers perform Holiday carols. The evening is followed by the lighting of the tree.

Fun Fair - Lisa Young and Cindy McCain
Fun Fair is a long-running and popular tradition in Grandview Heights. The event features carnival games, inflatables, crafts, a bake sale, a silent auction, and a kid’s gift basket raffle. Lunch and snack items are also available for purchase.
Foodie Friday - TBD
Foodie Friday provides an opportunity for the students to try new foods or compare foods that they think they are already familiar with during their lunch period. We need a few parents to help prep the samples and to pass distribute them during the lunch periods. The kids LOVE Foodie Friday!
Holiday Bazaar - Molly Newberry
Held one Saturday in November in the EILMS commons, the PTO sponsors a holiday bazaar featuring local artisans, craftspeople and small businesses. A highlight of the bazaar is the bake sale showcasing parent-donated homemade treats. The event closes with a raffle of prizes donated by participating vendors.
Ice Cream Social - Chrissy Hackney and Sandra Binning
At the beginning of each school year, the PTO hosts an Ice Cream Social on the front lawn of Stevenson for staff, students, and their families. Students have the opportunity to meet their teachers and visit their classroom before having ice cream on the lawn.
Indoor Recess - Julie McTeague
Starts Winter Trimester. During the months of January and February the PTO provides students with the opportunity to take a yoga or fitness class or have structured walking activities during their recess time.
Kids Night Out - Joe Liptrap and Heather Miller
Stevenson students pay a small fee to attend popular Kids Night Out events on Friday evenings (typically one per month.) Teachers chaperone and plan activities such as games, computer lab time, snacks and a movie.
Local Eats and Treats
Ongoing fundraising where local restaurants and businesses partner with Stevenson to donate a portion of sales to the PTO on designated dates.
Move-A-Thon - Sandra Binning
This is our school's biggest fundraiser and takes place the first week of October. Students collect donations from friends, family and neighbors, or use the online link for pledges. On the day of the Move-A-Thon, students will go outside with their class to walk, run and MOVE to win prizes like gift cards, spirit shirts, Fitness Trackers, or parties for their classrooms.
Retail Programs
Ongoing fundraising activity, which includes Box Tops for Education, Kroger Community Rewards and Amazon Smile. Each year, we receive hundreds of dollars through these programs. Please designate Stevenson as your recipient when making purchases.
School Directory - Kathy Greer
Each fall a directory of student information (student names, parent names, grades, addresses, phone numbers and email addresses) is compiled for grades K-12 so parents can contact each other. The PTO provides one free digital copy to each family; additional print copies are available for purchase. Inclusion in the directory is optional.
School Supply Sale - Melissa Tew
The School Supply Kit Sale is designed to make purchasing school supplies easy for K-3 parents. Complete school supply kits, priced at cost, are pre-ordered in the spring for fall delivery. Parents have the convenience of on-line ordering and kits are delivered to the classroom before the first day of school. Grades K-3 teacher supply lists are all available through this service.
Science Day - Jennifer Kinsinger
Science Day features a variety of hands-on science displays and demonstrations for students during the school day. Many volunteers are needed for this event.
Spirit Shirts - Kelly Bauer
The PTO provides a free RLStevenson t-shirt to all students and staff members to wear throughout the year, especially on spirit days.
Staff Appreciation - Tracy Thompson
Throughout the school year, the committee solicits donations from parents and restaurants for special events (e.g., Baked Potato Bar, Decadent Dessert Day, etc.) for the Stevenson staff. The first week of May is Staff Appreciation Week where staff members receive daily treats. The week concludes with a catered luncheon.
Third Grade Party - Tracy Thompson and Sandra Binning
Third graders are celebrated at a daylong picnic held at Wyman Woods in May. Parents and teachers of third graders typically collaborate on the planning this event.
Walking Wednesday - Sandra Binning
Grandview Heights is a walking school district and this program encourages our student population to walk to school while learning the safest routes and pedestrian skills they can carry with them as they become independent travelers. Students walk every Wednesday and earn punches on their Passports that they turn in for prizes. Program runs Fall and Spring Semesters.
Welcome Coffee - Chrissy Hackney and Sandra Binning
On the first day of school, the PTO provides coffee and treats for parents after students begin their day.

Information packets are provided to new families to familiarize them with the resources and activities in Grandview.
Wellness Day - Dawn Strong
The students spend the day playing on inflatables and learning about health-related topics.
Yellowbird - Lindsey Bills and Megan Hatta
Yellowbird Foodshed offers weekly Ohio Farm Food Boxes for Grandview Heights Schools families and staff members to purchase and pick up at Butcher & Grocer. There are 3 box sizes available, go to www.yellowbirdfs.com, pick your box size and select Grandview Heights City School District as a delivery location.
